We know that many of you are curious about the Godzilla crossovers. In this update, we will take a look into all Godzilla products, starting with the Crowdfunding Exclusive Godzilla Rising.
Godzilla Rising is a special Crowdfunding Exclusive expansion that brings a new level of excitement to the game. Featuring the giant Godzilla figure and 2 Epic episodes, this expansion introduces fresh mechanics and challenges that will test even the most experienced players.
Awakened from his slumber, the King of the Monsters' unpredictable fury and overwhelming destructive power can make him either an ally or a hindrance in the battle against the otherworldly forces, adding an extra layer of danger to Investigators, who must contend with Godzilla’s rampage. Regardless of who or what he targets, his mere presence could tip the balance against the cosmic forces.
Let’s first talk about the kaiju in the room: the megature. Standing over 54.5 cm tall (about 21.45 in) and with a base of 43.8x45.2 cm (around 17.24x17.79 in), Godzilla is an epic sculpt, to say the least. In addition to being a masterpiece, it features a sculpted base that plays a key role in gameplay. Investigators must navigate different areas around the base to achieve their goals, while designated zones allow artillery figures to be placed and used throughout 2 Epic episodes - each exploring the consequences of Godzilla's presence in very different ways.
Ruin comes to Tokyo in the form of a cult with foolish intent. Why summon an Elder God, if creatures beyond comprehension were believed to roam the Earth? If legends are true, something just as destructive as eldritch beings could be hiding deep beneath the waves…
Reality, it turns out, is harsher than the cultist’s dreams, as Godzilla is not as inclined to strike deals as they first thought. Awakened from its slumber, the King of the Monsters’ rampage turns on the summoners, and the unfortunate city around them.
In the Godzilla Rising Epic Episode, Cultists become enthralled with the existence of the King of the Monsters, adoring it as if it were one of their Elder Gods, and their ruckus is big enough to awaken Godzilla. While its rampant fury seems to be exactly what the Cultists were looking for, Investigators must find a way to put an end to it.
As terrestrial as Godzilla might be, its presence is enough to discourage the appearance of Elder Ones, making it your only challenge during this Episode. Don’t believe you might actually defeat it, though. There’s a reason why even elder beings shy away from this fight. Your best shot is making it retreat, and that alone is no small feat.
Investigators must use all the artillery they can get their hands on and follow different plans to hinder the creature’s rampage. If they manage to follow through with all steps of the plan in time, maybe they can live to fight another day.
The last chains are broken! The dreamer awakens! Dread Cthulhu walks the world! The end times fall upon mankind as chaos and order collide! Yet the world is not without its protectors, and the King of Monsters suffers no pretenders to his crown.
Godzilla rises from the depths, ready to strike down this ancient terror with a power born of radioactive fury. We are but ants as these deific titans make war. We can only hope to put our finger on the scales and tip the balance ever so slightly in Godzilla's favor.
This is not the first time Death May Die players have faced a massive creature — referring, of course, to the giant Cthulhu from R’lyeh Rising. And so, pitting two of the most powerful creatures ever conceived into existence against each other was inevitable.
In the Godzilla VS Cthulhu Epic Episode, the investigators and Godzilla must join forces against a common enemy of eldritch nature… Or rather, the investigators must aid Godzilla in any way they can while trying to survive the titan battle at the same time.
The ritual succeeded, and cultists have managed to summon Cthulhu into our reality. Some will say Godzilla has risen as a protector of this world, while others believe it simply sensed a threat to its dominance over land and sea. Whatever the reason, what can mere humans do when facing two creatures of impossible might? Whatever their firepower can manage. Keep the cultists at bay and try to survive to see the end of the battle!
This Epic Episode was designed to have the two Death May Die megatures face off against each other, with exclusive tiles setting the stage for the showdown, where Investigators – tiny, pitiful humans - find themselves trapped between the two colossal forces. For this reason, the Crowdfunding Exclusive R'lyeh Rising expansion is required to play this Epic Episode. But don’t worry if you don’t have it — it's available once again in this campaign, so you won’t miss the chance to experience this epic battle.
Note: Although the Godzilla vs Cthulhu Epic Episode is included on the Godzilla Rising product, a R'lyeh Rising (Cthulhu megature, which is sold separately) is required to play the episode.

To Each, Their Own Godzilla
As many of you are aware, during San Diego Comic-Con this year CMON released a limited-edition Death May Die promo box featuring Godzilla, with new gameplay content to add the King of the Monsters to any Death May Die Episode.
At the time, CMON promised that there would be an opportunity for the promo to be acquired outside the event in the future, and well, the opportunity finally arrived!
As a very special gift to all their loyal Death May Die backers, they have prepared a Crowdfunding Exclusive edition of the promo, with the same gameplay but an alternative figure and sculpted base!
The Godzilla Promo is a limited Add-on that can be added to any Death May Die gameplay session. It introduces a regular-sized Godzilla figure and a new gameplay mode, where investigators can benefit from his power in the fight against the Elder Ones, while also managing the chaos he brings to the board.
The Godzilla Exclusive Sculpt Promo is a Crowdfunding Exclusive Add-on that brings the same gameplay content of the Godzilla Promo but with a new exclusive figure, in a different pose and with sculpted base. This same version of the promo is the one that will have a copy being offered for free to returning Death May Die backers.
Let’s now take a moment to look into the promo’s gameplay!
Disturbed by the havoc caused by unfathomable horrors, Godzilla rises to join the fight against the Elder One. But don’t think it will make things easier for the investigators, as they must also survive this monster fight!
Godzilla is a threat to everyone near it. Before the ritual finished and the Elder One is added to the board, Investigators must survive its Unruly Behavior and the destruction all around. However, as soon as a worthy, eldritch opponent joins the fray, Godzilla channels all its powers against them and becomes Territorial.
Godzilla is not considered an enemy for gameplay purposes, and it’s an ally for all intended purposes, as it shares the same goal as the Investigators: to defeat the Elder One that has been summoned by Cultists.
Don’t just stand there and watch, though! There are still smaller monsters to deal with, and Investigators must also do what they can to ensure their side wins the fight. The game ends in victory if Godzilla defeats the Elder One. However, each attack dealt to Godzilla increases its Distress Track, making it a matter of time until Godzilla retreats from the battle, taking humanity’s hopes with it to the deep sea.
If you’re ready to be in awe of Godzilla’s immense presence while navigating the thrill of his unpredictable chaos, make sure to add the Godzilla Promo and/or the Godzilla Exclusive Sculpt Promo to your pledge!
